The power grid companies have several duties in the electricity certificate system. Power grid companies inform the market participants who are obligated to purchase electricity certificates, at which measurement points the calculation-relevant volume is their grid area is measured. In addition, they report on the calculation-relevant volume per electricity certificate in their grid area to the authorities.

All grid companies report to the Electricity Certificate Register NECS on how much electricity in their grid area is part of the electricity certificate system. The grid companies report this amount once every quarter.

If a grid company makes a correction for the previous year after the 1st of March, it will have an effect on calculating the amount of electricity in the certificate system that is already approved.

Grid companies are also subject to the electricity certificates obligation, in cases where they deliver electricity customers on delivery obligations.
