The objective of the workshop was to bring together those who have worked in the subglacial laboratory previously with those who have done similar work elsewhere. New results were presented and discussed, and there was opportunities to develop ideas for future projects and collaborations. The ice tunnel was opened during the workshop.
Locationthe meeting took place at Svartisen glacier in northern Norway. The workshop on Wednesday 25th took place in the laboratory itself. A helicopter was used to ferry people up and down a height of 600 m up a mountain and then walking 1.5 km along a tunnel. The meeting on Thursday 26th took place near Engabreen glacier, and included a short excursion to the glacier.
