Reduced power prices in Mid and North Norway. In North and Mid Norway the power prices were reduced by 7 percent and ended at 29 øre/kWh.
This reduction was mainly caused by reduced prices during the nights and at the weekend, lower price in Sweden and inflow that could not be stored in the reservoirs. The power prices in the three southernmost Norwegian elspot areas were 31.8 øre/kWh in the end of the week. This is a reduction of 0,2 øre/kWh from last week. The forward contracts at Nord Pool increased by two percentages during the week. At the same time the forward contracts in Germany fell slightly, but the German forward contracts are still traded at a higher value than the Nordic contracts.
The Norwegian reservoir level went up by 1.3 percent during the week, and in the end of week 31 the reservoir level was 63.9 percent. This is 20.0 percentage point below the median level of the week, and 12.2 percentage point below last year’s value.
