Increasing prices in week 7. Gradually colder weather and increased consumption led to higher prices in Norway during week 7. The highest prices were observed last Sunday.
The daily price was 83,3 øre/kWh in South-Eastern Norway and 84,4 øre/kWh in Middle- and Northern-Norway this day. This is the highest prices observed in Norway on a Sunday. The prices increased the most in South-Eastern Norway. In this area the daily price increased with 30 øre from Monday to Sunday. In South-Western Norway the prices also increased during the week, but in this area the price was 35 øre lower than in the rest of Norway.
The low Norwegian reservoir level and the low inflow, have together with low Swedish nuclear power production contributed to a large increase in the prices when the weather get colder and the consumption rises. During last week the Norwegian reservoir level decreased by 3,3 percentage points to 40,9 percent. This is 14,7 percentage points below the median level.
