Increased power generation in Norway. In overall, the temperatures increased last week in Norway, and the inland consumption fell by 43 GWh to 3 248 GWh.
Low wind production and failures at power plants in Denmark and Sweden contributed to a lower power supply in the market. This contributed to higher prices in most of the Nordic elspot areas and a higher Norwegian power production.
The weekly average price in Southeast-Norway, which last week was 50.8 øre/kWh, is now closer to the price in Sweden than the price in Southwest-Norway. The price in the last mentioned areas was 52.3 and 40.4 øre/kWh last week. Southeast-Norway, which before January 11th was in the same price area as Southwest-Norway, had approximately the same price as Sweden during several of last week’s price peaks. In Mid and North Norway, the average price in week 6 was 52.3 øre/kWh.
The reservoir filling in Norway fell last week by 3.4 percentage points, and ended on 44.2 percent. This is 14.1 percentage points below the median level for the week, and 7.4 percentage points below last week’s level.
