Record high prices in Mid- and North Norway. The average power price in Mid- and North Norway increased by 34.4 øre to 65.7 øre/kWh last week.
That is the highest weekly price since week 2 of 2003. High consumption due to low temperatures, low inflow levels and low available capacity in Swedish nuclear power plants, contributed to the increase. The price in South Norway increased by 2.3 øre to 33.2 øre/kWh.In hour 17 and 18 on Thursday last week, the power price was 11.8 kr/kWh in Mid- and North Norway. That is the highest price in Norway ever. On Thursday available capacity in Swedish nuclear power plants was less than 50 percent. In addition, there were outages at three Danish coal power plants.There will be no report on the power situation next week. The next report will be published on January 6.
