The power situation week 50 2009

16.12.2009 | 14:00

More equal prices. The average power price was 31 øre/kWh in Sweden, Finland and all the Norwegian elspot areas in week 50. Compared to the preceding week, this is an increase of 5 percent in South Norway and a decrease on 3 percent in Sweden, Finland, Mid and North Norway.

In week 49, South-Norway had the lowest price of all the Nordic areas. The more equal prices last week has as its primary cause that there were some high-price hours the week before. This pulled up the average price in all other elspot areas than South-Norway.

The level in the Norwegian reservoirs was 73,7 percent at the end of week 50. This is 2,4 percentage points lower than the week before and 2,1 percentage points below the week’s median level. In South, Mid and North Norway, respectively, the reservoir level was 75,0, 64,7 and 72,9 percent.
