Higher power prices. Power prices increased in the entire Nordic region during week 38.
The increase was mainly caused by higher prices at night time, which was a result of reduced water inflow to the hydro power system and decreased wind power production.
The Southern areas of Norway had the largest price increase. On average the power price for the entire area was 16.6 øre/kWh, which is an increase of 145 percent from the week before. In this area prices were higher both at day and night time, and towards the end of the week the price variation between day and night decreased. This price development indicates that the run-of-river production was smaller than one week earlier.
