Higher power prices in Norway. The power prices in all Norwegian elspot areas increased last week.
In the elspot areas in the south of Norway the weekly price was 30.7 øre/kWh. That is an increase of 6.2 øre from the week before. In Mid- and North-Norway the weekly average price was 32.4 øre/kWh, 3.1 øre up from last week.
The prices increased in all Nordic elspot areas. The increase can be seen in connection with higher demand in the Nordic area and in Europe. In addition, wind power production in Danmark and nuclear power production in Sweden and Finland decreased last week. Thus, demand for Norwegian power increased and contributed to higher prices in Norway. The prices in all Norwegian elspot areas were lower than in all other Nordic elspot areas. They were also lower than in the same week last year, when the weekly prices in Norway were above 35 øre/kWh.
