Record high Norwegian power export. Norway had a net export of 617 GWh in week 27.
It is the highest registered net export from Norway during one week. Heavy precipitation the last couple of weeks has contributed to fill up the Norwegian reservoirs, which now has a level around the normal.
Week 27 had low wind power production in Denmark and the continent, something which contributed to a high demand for Norwegian water power. Therefore, Norway had almost full export to Denmark and the Netherlands during the whole week.
In addition Norway had export to Sweden, especially from Eastern-Norway where the reservoir level is highest and there is a lot of run-of-river production.
A great part of the power production in Norway during week 27 arrived from run-of-river plants and from reservoirs almost full. Norway having the opportunity to export power leads to less loss of water from these power plants.
In addition Norway has some reservoirs which take a long time to fill up and therefore still has low reservoir level. These reservoirs will now store water.
