Lower Norwegian power prices. The Norwegian spot prices felt nearly 8 percent in week 24.
The weekly averages for the five Norwegian elspot areas were between 36.8 and 38.0 øre/kWh. The heavy precipitation the last couple of weeks have contributed to a decreased water values among the Norwegian water producers.
Despite a reduction in the inflow from the week before, Norway had high inflow during week 24. In addition reservoirs at a lower level starting to get full. Both parts contributed to high constrained production in Norway.
Combined with high wind production in Denmark and the continent during the weekend, Norway got low prices at night. The spot prices were at lowest Saturday night with prices below 5 øre/kWh. During these hours Norway had high import of power.
The Norwegian reservoir level at the end of the week was 58.1 percent. Compared to the week before it was an increase of 5.7 percentage points. The reservoir level is 3.2 percentage points above the median value of the week, and 9.3 percentage points above last year’s value.
In addition Norway has about 60 percent of the normal quantity of energy in the snow. Therefore, Norway still has a hydrological deficit.
